Metropolitan Behavioral Health (a UHS Facility)

A growing, 144-bed behavioral health facility – Metropolitan Behavioral Hospital provides a full continuum of inpatient services across the entire patient population, including specialty programs to serve adolescents, adults and older adults, and perform behavioral health assessments 24 hours a day. Additionally, programs for co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues will be offered to meet the unique needs of this patient population. The facility will provide a robust outpatient program utilizing a combination of group, family and individual therapy.

Position Summary:

The Admission RN obtains initial clinical information which is communicated to the physician on call to make a final decision regarding admission. The RN may also schedule a clinical evaluation if appropriate for the client and contacts the physician who will make decision for the appropriate level of care: inpatient, day treatment or outpatient care. The Admission RN will facilitate this process by assisting the client, family and referral sources. The Admission RN also provides information to clients, families and referral sources regarding treatment programs, insurance and admission procedures.

Education and License:

• Associate’s in nursing or BSN with Michigan RN license
• Experience working in an Intake and/or Admissions office assessing mental health patients.
• A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience providing mental health services, preferably in a psychiatric hospital .
